About Assumption Catholic School
Mission statement: Faith • Academics • Service
These three words are the core of our school which has a rich history of providing an exceptional Catholic education for students in grades K -8.
Daily prayer and religion classes, regular liturgies and Eucharistic Adoration, retreats, and service projects are all incorporated into our students' experiences. We strive to help our students live by Gospel values, display strong moral character, and positively contribute to their school and community.
Christian service is an integral part of the student experience at Assumption Catholic School. Younger grades, even preschool and 4K students, gain greater appreciation of community needs by collecting items to support community agencies. As students grow older, they become more involved in local efforts and extend their reach to support national and international causes. Our students collect over 500 pounds of food each Thanksgiving season, and deliver it to our local food pantry.
- At Christmas our students adopt a family in hopes of bringing Christmas joy to their home.
- Every other year, our students pack food for Feed My Starving Children to send to the hungry Haiti.
- Each year during Catholic Schools week, we hold a Mission Carnival and send all of our proceeds to Casa Hogar de Juan Pablo II, an orphanage in Peru.
- During Lent we conduct penny wars to supplement our mite boxes and gift the Santa Cruz mission in Boliva.
When added up, our students donate more than 2,000 hours of community service annually.
